Amanda Horn

Amanda Horn traveled an eclectic path to public relations, which makes her a perfect fit for the Nevada Museum of Art. Her resume frequently produces both smiles and raised eyebrows. After college, she literally started a circus and made her living for several years as both traveling performer and troupe publicist. She often says everything she needs to know about PR she learned in the circus, though she gives much credit to UNR’s Reynolds School of Journalism as well.

Before joining the Nevada Museum of Art as Director of Communications in November 2013, Amanda served as Account Director for The Abbi Agency. She has also been Communications Manager for McLean International; the leader of guerilla marketing and brand campaigns in the San Francisco Bay Area; and is an award-winning writer. She is a wellness advocate and creative community enthusiast, and spent two years as communications chair for Susan G. Komen Northern Nevada. Amanda is also a leader in her professional community, holding the position of President-Elect for the Public Relations Society of America Sierra Nevada Chapter.
